Baires House is a short-term tourist rental inside a historic mansion in the heart of Buenos Aires. Each guest has their own private room with ensuite bathroom — we don't rent shared dorms. The common areas — kitchen, living room, courtyard and rooftop terrace — are shared.
Each guest receives their own key and a personal access code — come and go whenever you like, with full autonomy around the clock. Host warmth, real independence and a location that speaks for itself.

Congreso neighbourhood: a vibrant, central area surrounded by culture, restaurants and public transport. Surprisingly quiet for how central it is.
The place is stunning and preserves so much of its history, making it cosy and unique. Very comfortable bed, ideal location for sightseeing.

This building is declared Architectural Heritage of the City of Buenos Aires. Its marble staircases, cedar doors and stained glass windows, moulded ceilings, pinotea wood floors, mirrors and chandeliers remain intact — exactly as they were conceived over 120 years ago.
The mansion is built in the Congreso neighbourhood, the same year the National Congress — just three blocks away — was inaugurated. Buenos Aires elite families call it home for decades.
The property goes to auction and is nearly demolished. Its new owner saves it and commissions a full renovation by architect Alejandro G. Bustillo — the same architect behind Hotel Llao Llao and the Banco Nación.
After years of wear, we undertook the task of restoring the house: preserving every original detail while incorporating modern technology without altering its essence.

There's no front desk — but that doesn't mean set check-in hours: each guest receives their own keys and a personal electronic lock code, so you can come and go with full autonomy 24/7. There's no daily housekeeping — rooms are cleaned weekly with fresh linen and towels. We don't offer breakfast, but we leave complimentary tea and coffee in the kitchen for anyone who wants to help themselves. In return, you get real privacy, independence and the warmth of a present host.
Yes, as long as you coordinate in advance, we can welcome you from 10am. If the room is ready you can check straight in. Otherwise, you're welcome to leave your luggage and use the common areas — kitchen, living room, bathroom — until your room is ready.
We don't have our own parking, but there's a covered garage just 30 metres away, open 24/7, with plenty of space — no reservation needed. Payment is made directly on site (not included in the stay). We can share their contact details if you'd like to check ahead of arrival.
We don't offer a breakfast service, but there's a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee maker, toaster, oven and more. Around the corner there's an excellent bakery, and right across the street a café serving affordable breakfasts that also delivers. Starbucks, Café Martínez and Havanna are all within 200 metres.
Yes. We are registered in the Buenos Aires City Tourist Rental Registry under number RL-2021-19501767-DGDTU, in full compliance with all safety and hygiene requirements.
The main entrance has an electronic lock connected to an alarm system, with cameras in common areas. Each room has its own personal code and a digital safe large enough for a laptop.
